I had a pain in my stomach. I am 74 and I have no insurance. I went to the emergency room of the Marin General Hospital, Larkspur, California. I was diagnosed with diverticulitis. I was prescribed medicine but was then sent to have a CT scan. At no time was I told of the cost of the scan. About two weeks later I was presented with a bill for $8,000.00 which I am unable to pay. This amount has now been sent to a collection agency, which is now adding 10% in interest charges.
