My father was a successful and ethical lawyer. He started his own law firm in Arizona and at the time of his retirement his firm had approximately 40 partners and around 100 employess, who were all insured. It was soon after his retirement that he had a recurrence of lung cancer. The insurance company that insured him after he had retired from his firm denied him coverage for treatment. During the time he was fighting for his life and was also fighting the insurance company for coverage. As you know, stress is an important factor that should be minimized in order to successfully battle cancer, and the situation his insurance company "provided" created more stress instead of less. Well after months of battling the insurance company, the insurance company finally relented and continued his coverage. Soon after winning this battle, my Dad lost his battle to cancer. As I am writing this letter, I realized it is Father's day and I miss him dearly.
