My wife and I facing enormous finanacial difficulties because of our health problems

I am writing you today because I am desperate because of the enormous financial difficulties that my wife and I are both facing because of our medical problems. It all started back on November 9, 2006 I had a bad tingling pain in my lower legs. By later that afternoon, my heart started palpitating and my arms had pain in them as well. I immediately went to see a doctor who admitted me by ambulance to Fl. East. The problems continued so I had to go back to the hospital twice because even though I was discharged I wasn’t feeling better and the problems got worse. Because of this I was no longer able to work consistently and this strictly limited my income because as it was I already had pre existing obligations I was already paying.

My wife also had problems at the same time as well and was not able to work at all due to what was a gall stone in her gallbladder which is an inch in-half in size, cervical stenosis (closing of the cervix), and Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome which as placed her on an outright leave of absence. When the pain still didn’t stop, she was then diagnosed by a gastroenterologist with severely painful diverticulosis and irritable bowel syndrome on top of the PCOS and Polyps in the uterus they found in a laparoscopy.

Now the OB GYN is referring her to a kidney specialist because she has an enlarged right kidney that is giving her painful or difficult urination. It has financially wiped us out and we are now in an estimated $7500.00 in debt and growing! We are trying hard to avoid chapter 7. This is just what we have already paid off with credit that has brought about that kind of debt!! This doesn’t include the $9000.00 in medical bills still due! With her having the main income coming in and I having what they now believe might be Nerve problems and a closing of the back disk in the spine and I can focus only one third of the time because of the painful nerve problems this brings on. The only problem is that I have had to spend probably (most which have not arrived yet) a combination of about $15-25,000 in medical bills!

I only am 35 years old and my wife only being 28, that’s a little more than what any couple can endure in their first year of marriage. The fact that I am the only one who can work at all right now (which is very limited) we have enormous financial strain on us due to other medical bills as well as the bills just started to snowball! I am very stressed about my financial situation right now. As it is my insurance that my wife and I have didn’t cover much at all on the estimated 65 bills! Because the policy I have is a limited coverage policy. I would look for another policy, but if I do that will say it is pre-existing condition and never pay anything! Trust me I have looked. There are programs for old people over 65 in Medicare and Medicaid for the totally disabled, but we don’t qualify, as usuall. This also seems to be the reaction we get when we ask for help " THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM PAL!!"

There are still more bills than that coming as well that I am sure my cruddy policy United American will push away or pay little on as well. Even then what they pay can’t keep up with the sky high cost of living which keeps going up. The other problem is that you can’t find a good major coverage policy unless you’re a corp. buying 5,000 or more policies at once. It also seems like there are no federal grants (unless you know of any) as well that exists help people in my situation. I desperately need as much help as I can get with these bills. So, my wife and I ask different organizations among others for help with some of the bills.

These very difficult times that has nearly threatened to tear our marriage apart. The fact that I can’t earn the income as fast as it is going out, this growing debt threatens to tear us apart for years to come with no light at the end of the tunnel in sight for either of us. You don’t even have to give the funds to me. You can donate directly to the people we owe to. E-mail me back and I will give you a listing of people to make your donation to and the amounts owed. So, I’m asking people within the medical industry organizations for your help as we are a rare situation. Thanks for your organizations consideration and time. Thank you. Sincerely, Jason Arnott
