Military Health Care

My dad was admitted to the hospital for ongoing treatment of heart disease in 1986. He was a Korean vet, wounded by bullet and knife in combat and disabled. Despite his disability he was able to work to support his family for many years until declining health forced him to retire. Too young for Medicare he relied on his military pension/disability and insurance to live.

The pension paid him $87.00 per month yet his medications alone cost about $300 per month. While in the hospital it was determined that he should undergo surgery and as his insurance wouldn't cover another overnight stay prior to the surgery and possibly not the surgery, he was sent home to wait to be called back when and if payment could be secured. He died that evening of a heart attack.

So I hope you will remember this when the chicken hawk politicians wrap themselves in the flag, send our kids over to die for their lies and turn their backs on supporting veteran's benefits.
