My sister, a nurse, died after 4 years fighting for proper care
My sister is DEAD! A former nurse. she spent four years of fighting for care in her healthcare system and denied until less than 24 hours before she died from metastatic renal cell carcinoma. My dad is presenting Kianna's Law again before the next legislative session. It deals with compassionate use of meds for the terminally ill. I had breast cancer in 2001-2003. It is back. After 2 years struggeling for follow up from my hospital-the country hospital where I treat drunks, drug addicts and prisoners on a daily basis-where I am a nurse. It now shows in my lungs, in my liver, in my pelvis, has eatin thru the adrenal gland is most likely the cause of the lump in my neck.
But I can't get a full work up or care to begin for myself. Not that my history is significant. Nor the family history. Nor my dad who has non-hodgkins lymphoma currently in remission. I will die waiting for healthcare that I dispense on a daily basis to the uninsured of our state. Rapists, baby killers, robbers and murderers are the only US population that are mandated medical care by the US govt. Isn't that amazing. What can I do to get out the word before others die like I will? I have 3 kids.
My youngest has a rare disability that I could get NO care for from our lovely healthcare system. I became a licensed physiotherapist to treat him myself. Who will care for him when I am gone? And does anybody care? Kianna's law is one step if we can get it passed. It does has legislative support in both houses. How about a public voice? Can you join with us and help that one? I may need those drugs in the coming months. THIS IS BEYOND CRIMINAL! And we are the working insured that pay for all the deadbeats to get what we can't access. Ain't America's Healthcare system grand!!!!
