Insurance Declination for Healthy Americans

I recently started a job for which our insurance is individual. My employer pays a set amount towards the insurance of my choice. I have heard that Mercy Health was a good one, so I applied. On my application, I had stated that I was seeing a doctor for stress relief, due to the fact that my husband has lung cancer. I have been declined coverage because of stress related illness. I don't have any of these so called illnesses. I am 37 yrs old. I am not over weight, I don't drink, or do drugs. I exercise on a regular basis. So why would I be declined coverage?

I have stated to my friends and co-workers that if health care in America doesn't come to some kind of social medicine, that I will denounce citizenship of this country and move to Canada or Europe. I cant believe that we live in one of the richest countries in the world and our government allows insurance companies to decline perfectly healthy individuals medical insurance. If we cant take care of our own people, then our people should stand up and say "we have had enough!!. For me that means leaving the country that my ancestors originated from. I am native American of this country and would like to stay that way, but I am on the fence about it right now.... So, in conclusion I would like it if you or your organization could shine a spot light on this company. Hopefully I'll be approved for coverage.

Thank you for your considerations.... Teresa
