Healthcare for the Healthcare providers - everyone should have it

I am a soon to be 62 year old RN working in a Hospital for more than 25 years and the miniute I retire I will not be able to afford the cobra benifits for My husband and I. I have had both my hips replaced and find it difficult to work the long and demanding shifts that are required of a hospital nurse. After a career providing care to everyone else I will not be able to afford the same service I have provided. All my benifits except pension dissapear when I leave my job. I would like to have the benifits Chaney and the rest of the federal workers get for very short time of service. I was hoping to retire at 62 but the Cobra will be $1050 per month and with the marked rise in the price of home heating oil, electricity, and gas in New England there is no way I can stop now. And I am lucky to have what I have now. Many people I deal with do not have any insurance at all. Healthcare for everyone is what I consider to be the most important issue in the country today alone with global warming.
