My family (3 of us) has had Blue Cross/Blue Shield for about 15 years. This year they have increased our premium $167.00 per month. For a total premium of $767.00 for my husband, my son and I. We are outraged. We tried to contact customer service at least 5 times. No one can tell us why our insurance jumped so high. I was not allowed to speak with a "manager" regarding this issue.

I have written six letters to CareFirst. I have written the Obama administration. I have contacted the Insurance Corporation Commission in VA. And I continue to write letters to CareFirst to get answers. No company should be able to hike rates for no reason!!! Am I paying for all the anticipated uninsured people? No one at Carefirst cares about us or our problem. We are disgusted as a family with what is going on in America. We can not afford health care anymore. We are a middle class family who will go broke with our current health care system. Around the world there are excellent programs that work. Non of them include "for profit insurance companies and pharmacutecal".

Basic coverage----very good is for all people at a decent cost. Japan, Germany, France---excellent health care and the people are healtheir than in US. US has the sickest people of any industrialized nation. Obama is not addressing Americas problem: "for profit insurance company" health care model. Something must be done to stop this. I am tryng to be as vocal as possible. America must be educated on other European plans that work well. I have read them. They are GOOD. NOT perfect. Just very good and affordable. REad about Japan, Germany and France. These people are healthy. In America, we are not curing people of anything. People are very very sick in this country.

Check out the stats of countries I've listed above. None of those European countries has "socialized" medicine. It is a plan that is private insurance; private hospitals. Go to any doctor you want and pay little. The government does manage care---but that is great--- EvEryone can afford health insurance in Europe. No one goes broke from health costs. NO one in Europe. Read about what is going on in other countries. Their systems work well. Why can't America follow one that is already working. Read TR. Reid "Healing America. All the data of top European countries is this book!

Thank you for letting me tell this story.
