Cherry Picked out of the group plan
September 8, 2009
I am a 54 year old woman who was diagnosed with ovarian and uterine cancer. I was terminated from my job as an assistant store manager of a local thrift store that professes to spread good will throughout the community.
During my employment with this I have had no corrective actions on my work record and my evaluations have all been above average rating.
What I do know is that the company is in the process of changing its health insurance package, as I am in the middle of my chemotherapy/radiation treatments. Without health insurance, I cannot afford to continue these treatments which are a matter of life or death with this disease.
Please inquire from this organization why they would terminate someone who they are aware is in the middle of cancer treatments and without these treatments could very well determine life or death.
What kind of good will organizations does this? I will fight this unjust act with everything I have, because I am literally FIGHTING FOR MY LIFE.
Sincerely,
Yvette
