Blue Cross won't pay for my last hospital stay
I was admitted to a hospital after being diagnosed with walking pneumonia at a walk-in clinic. I was kept at the hospital for seven days. During that time the hospital doctor ran several tests and I will directly quote what he told me, "We need to find out what you don't have before we can find out what is wrong with you." They took CAT scans of my sinus, ultra sounds of my heart and liver. Blood tests every 12hrs, Barium test and X-rays, stool samples, respiratory therapy. They sent in a special disease doctor and a gastrointestinal doctor.
Some time after I was released I got a letter from Blue Cross stating that they will not cover the last day I was in the hospital because there physician deemed I was well enough to be released. The hospital doctor would not release me. I asked when can I go home and his answer was, "We need to keep you here for another day. So the whole one week stay was around $45,000 after my insurance paid 75% of six out of the seven days I owe the hospital $6,234.34. I have tried to contact the hospital doctor but for two weeks, three times a day straight I would only get a machine that would say "mail box is full".The office did not return my phone calls,.. I gave up I still have to go to the hospital and ask for my records and am still trying to dispute my last day stay.
