$1,100 for my anemia treatment

I worked for the University of North Carolina, insured by them and I needed 10 infusions for my anemia it cost me $1,100.00 in copays after my insurance coverage. I treated at the University Hospital. I couldn't make the payment all at once, so because the Hopsital is owned by the State University System they took my last 2 years of tax refunds and kept them an applied this toward my bill, nice considering I worked for these people. I wonder what the copays are for our state legislators!
