Hitler Health Care

I used to see a physician with Intercoastal Medicine. He "insisted" that I take Interferon. I knew of a holistic medication called Iscador that has been putting cancer in remission as well as immune deficiency diseases such as Hep C. He refused to prescribe it. It is approved by the FDA for compassionate use. Guess he didn't want to be compassionate.

When I decided to see another physician within Intercoastal who has been known to be "open minded" about a more holistic approach, the first physician put the work out to not allow me any appts. with anyone at Intercoastal. Suddenly it became Intercoastal's "Policy". Changing physicians with my healthcare Provider is not easy. How can a conglomerate of doctors turn a Hep C patient away?

I had difficulties finding another physician in the Sarasota area who was educated in Hep C. Another physician told me that he didn't like my holistic attitude. A Hep C Clinic in Sarasota treated me like dirt when I arrived with my "holistic attitude"! Physicians in Sarasota have told me outwardly that they forget their vow to help patients when they graduate. They help who they want to help & holistics are out of their realm.

True holistic physicians charge a phenomenal amount of money & I can't afford them totally though I do receive acupuncture & get as much help as I can afford at East West College of Medicine. I have even been seen by a Hep C physician at the University of Florida at Gainesville & they have laughed in my face when I mention holistics & Hep C. They are totally negative & give me no hope with holistics but they are very very fast to write prescriptions in support of their favorite pharmaceutical company! Last year I spent almost $6000 out of pocket to stay well.

My insurance (Aetna) doesn't pay for holistic medicine. I have to buy Iscador from a pharmacy in Germany! I pay the Euro! It is getting quite expensive. Let's not forget that Iscador is FDA approved! Than you for your time.

I Sympathize - I'm from Sarasota Too

I too am from Sarasota and can identify completely with your struggle. For a town that boasts of being so "cultured" we seem to lose sight of the fact that not everyone's life involves nights at the Van Wezel, the Sarasota Opera and parties at Ringling. I couldn't even afford the admission to Ringling because I have to pay out of pocket for treatments deemed "too alternative" for my insurane company...despite the fact the quality of my life is solely contingent upon these uncovered treatments.
