Real People DENIED Real Healthcare: Nathan Wilkes

has coverage of his son's disease denied.

The problem for the Wilkes family has never been that they do not have insurance; it’s that theirs doesn’t do them any good. For the most part, the family enjoyed more affordable large-group coverage—that is, until little Thomas was born with severe hemophilia.

Guaranteed Healthcare.

Hooraw Michael Moore. We are to be the "richest" country in the world? Americans need to unite in this plight. Land of the free?
For who? How can these people sleep at night? With the crisis that is in our back yard? Medical number one, homeless, job crisis, war, drug's?....
Back to medical. This affects, from the inicent, infants thew the elderly.
And were suppose to be a "Democracy"? Who pay's? We the people.
Weather it be at the expense of (loss of life)(bankrupcy)(personal dignity)...What a Tragedy!
Illegal immigrant's want to come to the land of the free..for what?
We are paying billions on a war, we cant win? (another tragedy)
Billions on "Space Journeys? for what? In the name of science?
I give you TWO THUMB"S up Michael Moore. at least you have the courage to stand for what you beleive in. And the plight of this country. Let's all step up to the plate. American's unite.

Michael Moore is a pandering

Michael Moore is a pandering opportunist. If he cared about educating the masses concerning health care, he would set up a not for profit distribution system for his pap. Instead he'll make millions off of this crisis just like he has on all the other crisis he rants about. People who "can't afford" health care will find the money to see his movies; only in America.

Jesus loves Michael Moore - How greedy is that?

Michael Moore and other investors have put a fortune into making this important film, 'SiCKO,' so of course they should make money on it, yet Michael knows there are bootleg copies being circulated over the Internet. He just hopes true supporters will buy the DVDs and pay to see the film. He also premiered the film free at a homeless shelter on skid row in LA prior to his red carpet Hollywood premiere just last week.

How greedy is that?

So think about what you're saying when you compare Michael Moore, a documentary filmmaker (who truly believes in guaranteed healthcare for everyone), to a trillion dollar health insurance industry making record profits by denying healthcare (a basic human right) and rejecting policies to those in greatest need--with "preexisting conditions".

How greedy is that?

At least Michael has used his wealth and fame to help lift others up, and engage the public in debates about important issues like gun violence, war, and now healthcare. Someone needs to wake people up in this country, and love him or hate him, Michael Moore gets people fired-up and talking.

Meanwhile, our politicians are taking millions of dollars from health insurance and drug company lobbyists in exchange for the status quo—keeping them all rich, blocking 'adequate' healthcare to 250 million Americans, leaving nearly 50 million without any care, and therby killing some 18,000 Americans each year.

How 'SiCKO' is that?

Michael Moore is an all American hero from Flint, Michigan who never forgot where he came from. Thanks for speaking truth to power Michael Moore, and for never backing down on the common goods you believe in.

The status quo is ‘SiCKO’ and must be abolished. Single Payer guaranteed healthcare for every man, woman, and child is the only acceptable option for America.

Jesus loves you Michael Moore!

Only the TROLLS are talking about Michael Moore here

We're supposed to be commenting on this video. A man telling his story - about his sick son who was denied health care. We're not talking about Sicko or Michael Moore. Well most of us aren't. The only reason you'll see posts here about Moore are because they are planted by insurance company stooges. So you can skip right over them.

Treatment decisions driven by profit

After being an RN for 30 years I transferred to the Case Management department in an HCA hospital. I no longer work for Nursing and the CFO is my supervisor. I have been exposed to a new darker side of healthcare. My focus now is the "bottom dollar" ,length of stay, "get them out", "why can't they be discharged today", "change the meds to PO not IV", "do that as an OP procedure", "heads out of beds". Then, you have the Physicians for the large HMO's that are referring their patients to hopsice care once they become too expensive to treat, discharge patients that are full codes with a troponin of 26, BNP >3,000, to home self care. I can't count the number of cases our department submits to MQI, with nothing ever changing. For the naysayers, your Mantra needs to be "there but for the grace of God go I" when you are reading these testimonials, because at any moment it could be you or your family or loved ones that are victimized by the profit mongers.

US Health Insurance

Yes, I know that anti-Michael Moore comments here are 'planted' but I just have to add that 'Sicko' pulled off the rare feat of making me proud to be a Brit! Here in the UK, no one is ever denied health care - no baby, no chronically sick - there are no requests here on blogsites or on shop checkouts for charitable contributions to someone's child's dreadful health costs. I am so proud and happy that in the UK we put that most basic need, health care for all, above everything else. I do hope that Americans who see the need for it will be able to examine the policies of the 2 parties and see which one is likely to do something about this situation! For sure, the status quo cannot continue.

Really ?

I wouldn't have denied ever. ProCalisX

Hmmnn

hemophilia is such a nasty disease, the thing is, the whole system is corrupt and people the most valuable asset in the world have to suffer.

Moore knows the right way

Moore knows the right way to invest his money. Through his film he is cashing the sentiment of general people. If he truly feels the pain of the people then he can spend his money on the rehab centers and thus he can effectively serve the people.
