John McSame: "I know what it's like in America not to have healthcare"
Huh?
No you don't, McSame. You don't have a clue about the collapse of the U.S. healthcare system.
Recently when John McSame was asked about his lifetime government healthcare he spit back at the questioner, who happened to be George Stephanopoulos, that the inquiry was "a cheap shot".
If you missed the exchange, take a look. Memorize it. Never forget it.
McSame actually says in this clip, "I know what it's like in America not to have healthcare."
This is a lie.
For his entire adult life, John McSame has had taxpayer-subsidized government healthcare. He has happily accepted for himself and his family, the Cadillac healthcare he seeks to deny the American people.

Are you kidding me?
This is an outrage. He is so smug. He doesn't know what it's like not to have health care or to struggle to afford health care. We need people like him out of our government and it can't happen soon enough.
Unless the media . . .
confronts thugs like McSame, the American people will continue to be clueless about the Cadillac health benefits, elected officials award themselves while they deny to the American people.
Correction on Cadillac health benefits for McCain, et al
Eve,
Thugs, yes indeed. But unless we hold them accountable WE are the ones who award them the Congressional benefits and WE are the ones who pay for those benefits. Working American families who cannot even afford insurance coverage for themselves pay for their leaders to enjoy what they can only dream of in terms of healthcare.
And unless we educate one another about it, my guess is that many working class families will still vote for these liars -- leaders who convince them they care about God and country when in fact and in practice demonstrate something very different.
What did my mom used to say? "Actions speak louder than words." We must expose their actions to the light of the truth. Sunlight truly is the most powerful disinfectant.

This morning, the NY Times . . .
in its story about Senator Kennedy's brain surgery, specifically mentioned the deluxe Congressional health benefits he has. Also mentioned his wealth as being a factor in the excellent care he will receive.
and, when Kennedy's daughter, Kara was diagnosed...
with lung cancer, he was able to use his resources to have her transferred to a medical center for treatment that had better outcomes in treating the specific cancer she was diagnosed with, according to Gene Cherry/Reuters (6/2).
No one would begrudge the Kennedy family for having the resources to seek out the expert medical care and treatment recommended by their physicians. The point being that true quality care is that which is safe, therapeutic, and effective! We all deserve the freedom to seek out and benefit from such care.
The tragedy of illness or injury should not be compounded by financial ruin for those who need medically necessary care. With a Single-Payer, Universal Health Plan, such as HR 676, patients would not be limited or denied care based on the restrictions imposed by insurance company bean counters. All the other industrialized nations in the world have a national health service.
Patients are able to receive care by the doctor, nurse practitioner, hospital, or clinic of their choosing, either by self referral, or based on the recommendations of their own trusted healthcare provider. We can afford it by eliminating the administrative waste and bureaucracy inherent in our current "system" of "corporate profit care."
Profits have no place in healthcare. In the words of Senator Kennedy, "We need serious proposals to help solve the major health care challenges facing the nation. We need proposals that hold the promise of providing every American with quality health coverage - making sure that it is a right and not a privilege. In the wealthiest and most prosperous nation in the world, no citizen should have to choose between a visit to the doctor and paying the rent or putting food on the table. We can achieve this promise by extending Medicare to all Americans."
Godspeed, Senator.
