What's your solution?
Name-calling and mud-slinging is not helping to ease the pain and suffering of people who are sick and injured; not helpful at all when it comes to shining a light on the problem and exposing the "SiCKO" profit-mongering insurers who deny patients the care they deserve. Michael Moore is a true American patriot and a gifted film-maker; he's documented the truth about the outrageous insanity and inhumanity of our broken "healthcare" system.
This documentary has sparked the resolve and ignited the passion for reform in all who've seen it. Nurses and physicians are washing their hands, rolling up their sleeves, and going out into their communities to work for passage of HR 676/Conyers, (nationally) and SB 840/Kuehl,(California), to make sure their patients are restored to optimal health.
We hope many more "good" Samaritans will view the film and be motivated and willing to learn how to help us apply the healing salve of the Single-Payer solution: universal guaranteed health care for all. I think you've rubbed your eyes with those muddied hands. Let's get you washed up so you can see the film. Then, I think we can forgive you for taking a "blind" shot at the messenger.

I am also a RN and feel for some of these people as well, but I thought for people who can't afford healthcare the goverment already picks up the tab in the form of medicare or medicade. The real solutions is that employers should be given tax breaks so they can afford to give people insurance. As for my statement at the top I feel for some of these people I work as a corrections nurse and the majority of these people could careless about who pays there way in life as long as someone does. If Michael Moore thinks Castro has better health care than the US he is a freaking nut, why is it so many foreign nationals come to America to go medical school which takes slots away from many US students who want to be MD's. I have also worked with a few MD's from Canada in the operating room who do not like socialized medicine, because the pay sucks, they can not schedule the case's they want or have to wait for some panel to decide who gets surgery and who does not get surgery. If all of you who want single payer solution how about your taxes pay for them alone, if you have the following of so many people then lets add 10% of your pay to taxes and help fund this. I have worked hard to get where I am at in life and I belive there are so many people who can do the same. Yes there are individuals who can;t not work or provide for themselves and I have no problem with my tax dollars helping them out.

Straight talk from the Michael Moore cult! If Michael Moore looked like Al Gore or George Bush he would be president. How about Rasputin or Jim Jones. Maybe Jerry Garcia. He needs to make alot more movies and con millions more out of their hard earned dollars to look like George Soros but... I bet they are buddies!
Sicko
The quote from the mailer is "Guaranteed Healthcare on the single-payer model(expanded and improved Medicare). And as RN's we all know how great Medicare - Medicaid is and can't wait for the expanded and improved version. Of course we all trust the government will make it work efficiently. P.T. Barnum was right except he, Michael Moore, and CNA figure by now a sucker is born every second.
Patient Advocacy
What about RN's being a patient advocate regarding the patient being responsible for themselves not only clinically but financially? What a unjustice we are doing to our patients by allowing them a culture of entitlement.
How can so many, supposedly
How can so many, supposedly intelligent people, see Michael Moore as the second coming?! I'm sure much of "SICKO" is twisted to make a point, showing things taken out of context,etc. like his other "Documentaries". The last thing we need is the government completely running our healthcare system. They've done such a great job with everything else... hows the immigration problem out there in California?? This is the next step to a socialized state.
Great Britain and Canada really have things under control... try to get an elective procedure done!!
